Position Overview
Medical Courier Driver
McMahan Medical is seeking reliable, professional Medical Courier Drivers to transport prescriptions and healthcare-related items safely and efficiently. This role is critical to patient care, requiring strict adherence to HIPAA compliance, exceptional professionalism, and a commitment to timely, accurate deliveries.
Drivers serve as an extension of the pharmacy and must represent McMahan Medical with the highest level of integrity, discretion, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport prescriptions and medical items to patients and healthcare facilities
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and within designated timeframes
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations, protecting all patient health information (PHI)
- Obtain and document Proof of Delivery (POD), including signatures and/or photo confirmation
- Follow assigned routes and utilize company-approved delivery applications for tracking and updates
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, pharmacy staff, and customers
- Immediately report delivery issues, delays, or discrepancies
Work Schedule
- Days: Monday – Friday
- Hours: Vary between 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM based on operational needs, route volume, and delivery demand

- Required uniform: White button-up shirt or McMahan Medical issued shirt, Khaki or black pants
- Demonstrate respectful, courteous, and professional behavior in all interactions

Compliance & Confidentiality
- Strict adherence to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) is mandatory
- Unauthorized disclosure of patient information will result in immediate disciplinary action, up to and including termination
Attendance & Reliability
- Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential to this role
- Drivers are expected to be present, on time, and fully prepared for each scheduled shift
- Failure to meet attendance expectations, including excessive absences or last-minute call-outs, may result in disciplinary action

Policy & Conduct
All drivers must comply with McMahan Medical policies, procedures, and operational standards. Failure to adhere to company policies — including but not limited to HIPAA violations, unprofessional conduct, uniform non-compliance, failure to complete assigned deliveries, or attendance violations — may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or contract.
Driver Insurance Requirement
All drivers working for McMahan Medical must maintain active and valid auto insurance coverage at all times. Coverage must include minimum limits of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury and $50,000 property damage, and must permit delivery or courier services. Drivers are responsible for ensuring their policy covers business use of their vehicle. Proof of insurance must be provided prior to onboarding and kept current at all times. Failure to maintain proper insurance coverage will result in immediate termination of contract.
